Taipei, Taiwan, July 4, 2006 - Protech Systems Co., Ltd., the leading industrial PC maker, announced the release of the EB-561LF, an advanced, energy-efficient 3.5" Mini Board that combines the computing performance of a Low Voltage Intel® Pentium® M or Ultra-Low Voltage Intel® Celeron® M processor with the Intel® 855GME and ICH4 chipset.
With its low-power operation, the EB-561LF delivers a compact and fanless motherboard solution for space-limited, temperature-sensitive industrial and embedded applications. The EB561-LF features onboard graphics via the Intel® 852GM chip that supports CRT, 18-/36-bit LVDS and TV-out displays, making it an ideal platform for interactive kiosks and ATM machines. Rigorous and continuous computing required by factory automation and heavy industrial applications is fully achieved through a 400 MHz system bus that dramatically improves system response time, multi-tasking flexibility and operating reliability. The EB-561LF has a DDR SO-DIMM slot supporting up to 1 GB of DDR 266 MHz SDRAM module system memory. Opening the EB-561LF to expansion opportunities is a PC/104-Plus slot supporting the latest LAN, video interface cards, and other expansion cards utilizing the high speed PC/104-Plus bandwidth.
Durability and connectivity factors
According to Jerome Wu, Protech's Embedded Computing PM, the EB-561LF extends a totally easy-to-own, Intel®-based, low power, compact motherboard solution with admirable graphics support, highest memory level and complete connectivity. He also added that the industrial-grade durability of the EB561-LF makes it easy to install and deploy even in extremely harsh computing environments. Promoting well-rounded connectivity, the EB561-LF offers several I/O interfaces including two USB 2.0, one multi-purpose RS-232/422/485, one RS-232, parallel, SIR, and Intel®-based 10/100Base-T Ethernet ports. Complementing the onboard graphics is the Realtek ALC202A audio codec that supports the EB-561LF audio functionality. Also onboard is a 44-pin IDE connector for high-capacity storage and a 1 to 255 sec selectable watchdog timer with NMI/reset capability. The industrial strength, RoHS compliant EB-561LF uses a lead-free manufacturing process to promote safe and hazard-free embedded computing.
