Based on the Intel® Atom™ processor N270, the Protech COM-587LF delivers an optimal balance between excellent performance and very low power.
To accommodate fast growing marketing segments, Protech Systems Co., Ltd, has developed a brand new COM (Computer-on-module) Express CPU Module. The COM-587LF CPU module measuring only 95x125mm is fully COM Express™ type 2 compatible and is powered by the Intel® Atom™ N270 and Intel®945GSE and ICH7M chipset which makes it especially suitable for low power, small portable devices and applications. Besides, it provides high speed PCI-Express bus interface and serial ATA for your high performance applications requiring high-speed and greater stability. The COM Express CPU Module offers flexibility and time-to-market advantages over a fully customized platform.
The module comes with a single onboard Gigabit Ethernet port and two SATA ports. It has legacy support for a single Parallel IDE channel, 32-bit PCI™ 2.3 at 33MHz, supporting 4 bus masters LPC SMBus, I2C. It also supports various operation systems such as Vista 32bit, WINCE BSP / Embedded XP BSP, Linux 2.6X / 2.6X BSP and WINXP 32bit.
The COM-587LF is positioned as an entry level COM Express module for systems that require a full set of graphics features. The module comes with integrated support for high resolution CRT, single/dual channel LVDS(2CH x 18-bits) and UXGA(1600 x 1200). Protech’s COM-587LF CPU module supports 18-bit dual-channel LVDS interface and supports one COM-587LF 0/533 SODIMM memory module up to 2GB. COM Express carrier boards can be designed with features and technologies specifically targeting the needs of the different market segments.
